The dancing chorus represents the sailors, the people, the warriors, possibly the winds of Aeolus and a number of secondary roles.

The roles of Virgil and Mercury can be played by the same actor-singer, who will also become Neptune on one occasion.
The role of Laocoon, who sings only once, in front of Troy, can be played by Achates, who appears little.
